It has been a busy start to the year. We’ve been working on a bunch of activities since Q4 of 2009, and in 2010, we will be gradually launching them. Here’s a scoop on what we have so far.
1) PHPAcade.my and PHPMarketplace.my initiative launch
On April 5, 2010, we launched our 2010 maiden projects in collaboration with MDeC and Microsoft: PHPAcade.my and PHPMarketplace.my .
Here are some facts that came out of the event:
In a 2008 MDeC study, MSC Malaysia companies generated about RM1.2 billion revenue in PHP development and services, but, only about RM66 million were exported.
Statistics shows that since year 2008, PHP on Windows deployment shares has been growing steadily with developers quoting security, performance and manageability as key considerations requested by the enterprise customers.
These facts, coupled with our survey of the PHP Community, are the reasons why these initiatives are a must to help our community to fully monetize their potentials
.
PHPAcade.my is an online, self-paced training facility that will provide thorough, yet easy to follow instructions for deploying PHP on the Windows platform.
PHPMarketplace.my is an online service to match PHP on Windows developers to global organizations, which are looking for such software development services.
